Due to the state of the field and the forecast inclement weather on Saturday (120mm - 200mm rain) the Committee of Management had decided to cancel both the Morning and Afternoon sessions for Saturday 20 March 2021.
EAC resumed our shoots on the 18th July 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the committee has devised a covid management plan which limits the number of people to 2 a target and on the field as well as in the club house area, Hand sanitisers have been purchased and to cater for the number of members who wish to shoot we have implemented to morning and afternoon shoot sessions. Pre-registration EACH week is required. No bookings covering multiple weeks will be accepted to keep things fair for all members. Registration is currently by email to the secretary but may change to online bookings in the future.
Happy shooting Anthony Unfortunately with yesterday's increased crackdowns on registered clubs Erina Leagues Club has had to close. As part of this the Archery field is closed for practice as well as competition. I would presume that there is a possibility of the police keeping an eye on gatherings in such places, so please keep away until we notify you that access to the field has been restored.
NOTE: $5 per week shoot fees still required to cover target butt wear and insurance. This can be paid by direct deposit per email sent to members
Dear members, The COVID-19 situation is fast moving and the Committee is monitoring this very carefully. Our membership demographic is particularly vulnerable to this virus and we need to take that into account. The NSW Government has just announced that all non-essential services are to close. While some would like to think Archery is an essential service, it is not. The Leagues club would also likely close with these new NSW Government measures. We cannot operate without toilets. It should also be noted that shared toilets are the likely places where the virus will spread. While we will definitely close the field if the League Club closes, we believe that it would be prudent to close the field effective immediately for all organised club events. That would include Saturday calendar shoots, Interclub events, and any beginner classes. The field closure will be reviewed at the end of April based on the situation at that time The field will remain open for practice only at this time, but with restrictions of only 1 archer per target. This will be policed by members themselves. This may also be reviewed if the situation changes. Under no circumstances should any member come to the field if they are not feeling well, even for practice. Keep safe. Regards Committee Erina Archery Club Just a reminder that the shoots during the month of February constitute the Yeadon Memorial shoot. In order to be in award contention you must complete all
four shoots and shoot in your own or higher class for all of the shoots. Unfortunately due to the fires affecting his property, Mark Sim has had to give up his role as DOS. Best wishes to Mark.
Unfortunately Erina Leagues club has informed us that they will be using the field for a Christmas event on the 21st so a shoot won't be possible.
On the positive side it will mean that strong people will be available to help with the new kitchen container if we are unable to get things sorted on Sunday the 15th. So far we have only had 2 volunteers, come on team we really need some strong people to help out. If you have metal cutting and welding skills, even better. I have added a link to a PDF version of next years tournament calendar under the results & Calendar menu.
The next shoot is down as a Novelty shoot but as we are going to have one on December 21 we are changing the November 30 shoot to be an indoor followed by a match play.
