Due to the difficult nature of setting up the field for rounds shot in yards it is absolutely necessary that members register for this event or risk being disappointed if they show up on the day and are unable to shoot at their preferred distance. The registration form is always available above the sign on book at the club.
At the GM yesterday members voted to move the time for the first scoring arrow to 09:30 during the daylight savings period. This means members will have to arrive at the range early enough to assist with field set up so that the 2 practice ends can start by 09:15.
This year's John Clarke shoot is being held on October 12. For those who aren't familiar with it, the shoot distances are in yards. This is done in memory of John who was always promoting such shoots.
Members are asked, if possible to come dressed in some sort of archery related costume, English period if possible. People dressed as American Indians have been welcomed on the past. It's just a day to remember John and the origins of Archery. You need to register for this shoot, the same as you would for the monthly FITA/WA 1440 shoot. Due to the high winds forecast for Sunday, Cessnock Target Archers have cancelled the Interclub Clout this Sunday.
Cessnock will reschedule this event for another Sunday. |
