We are a growing and vibrant club and can really use all the help we can get to keep it that way. There are a number of ways you can help. Being on the committee is one such way.
There are a great many new members in the club who may not be familiar with the requirement to register for the monthly club competition which is held on the 3rd Saturday of the month.
In order to assist with the planning of the field set up it is mandatory for members attending the FITA 144 shoot to pre-register for their desired distance by the weekend prior. A registration form is maintained either near the sign on book or on the table where the score sheets are held. If you do not register and show up on the day you may still shoot but if all the spots at your desired max distance are already taken then you will have to shoot at another starting point. This MAY preclude you from winning an award as you can only be in the running for an award by shooting at the maximum distance applicable to your class or shooting at a distance above your class, not below. The 2012 annual general meeting is to be held on Saturday August 4, 2012 within the hour starting at 10:00.
Prior to the start of the AGM there will be an Extraordinary general meeting held to correct the wording of the club's constitution in regards to the make up of the committee of management. "per section 6.1.3.3 in the club’s articles of association I am giving at least 14 days clear notice and a general overview for an Extraordinary General meeting which will be held at 10:00 Saturday August 4, 2012, immediately prior to the club’s AGM. The purpose of this EGM is to discuss and vote on a proposal to amend the club’s articles of association 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 relating to the minimum number of members required to make up our club’s committee. For your reference the current relevant sections are shown below. 4.1 General 1. There shall be a Committee of Management which shall consist of not less than eleven (11) persons each of whom must be:- (i) a natural person; (ii) an member of the Club eligible for election; and (iii) normally resident in Australia; 2. The Committee of Management shall consist of the Office Bearers (comprising the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Field Captain and Recorder) and five (5) committee members. David Robertson will provide a thorough wording of the proposed changes either before the EGM or upon the day. But briefly we are proposing to reword the above to state that the Committee should consist of a minimum of 9 members, not 11." The EGM must be held prior to the AGM as it will affect the number of Committee positions which have to be filled. It should not take at all long unless some members have concerns which need to be discussed. And if you do then please don’t keep quiet we need to take all views into consideration before a vote is held. |
