This has probably been the single most expensive purchase made since I have been at the club. A total of 20 Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1" android tablets have been purchased with the final order of 19 being delivered to the secretary within the next few days.
Once they are all updated with the latest software patches, security set up and the scoring application installed we will be ready to roll them out for general use. They WON'T be stored at our club house due to security concerns. A paper score sheet will still be required to be filled in for all double sheet scoring events with this paper copy being compiled by the least experienced archer on the target. This is to ensure that our archers are still able to use paper versions as they are still required at all competitions. The driver for the change to electronic scoring is the success of our club. With the number of members it is quite difficult for our recorder to manually enter every arrow for each archer attending a shoot. This task is made more difficult due to poor legibility and lack of details on paper. The driving force for building the application and negotiating with other parties to provide the back end system for this are Tristan and David Robertson. Prices for Coffee using the PODs are now $2 a cup. Give it a try and support your club !!
On the 18th May the father/son team of Andrew and Hayden Crampton won the James Scott Memorial Clout Memorial Trophy.
