The passing of a well respected and long serving member

4/11/2012

This is one of those times I don't enjoy being a club communicator.  But it is my sad duty to let you know that a very well liked and long serving member of our club Roy Hadley passed away suddenly last week.  Whilst I didn't know Roy all that well I always found him to be a nice and unassuming fellow who I could tell was the sort of person liked by all.  Our best wishes go out to Roy's loved ones.  I don't have words that could possibly ease the pain for those who loved him but I can say with great certainty that the love shared is the sort of energy which lives on for our entire lives.  So whilst Roy might be physically gone, his love lives on in those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by him.

My sister sent me a poem when my father died.  I wont go into it in total but the words from it I believe say it better than I do.

'do not stand by my grave and cry.  I am not dead, I did not die....'

For those who are able to attend, Roy's funeral will be held at Palmdale at 10am on Tuesday November 6.
