Target faces are divided into five colours. Every ring has a point value.
The closer to the center, the higher the points scored. The smallest center ring also scores 10 points, and is indicated by an “X” on the score card. X’s are used as tie-breakers, but only for outdoor target shooting.
The inner "X" ring is the only area in the gold which scores a 10 for compound archers during indoor rounds. All other arrows outside the "X" and in the gold only score 9.
Outdoor target faces come in two sizes - 122cm and 80cm.
If an arrow does not hit one of the scoring rings it is marked as a miss (M) on your score sheet.
Any arrow which cuts the the line achieves the score of the higher of the two scoring rings.
