........................going to be announced at the Christmas party per EAC custom.
What a great event ! It ran like clockwork so it was a testiment to the work put in by David Robertson and Andrew Crampton not to mention all the behind the scenes work by other committee members. I do not have results for all the archers but I spoke to Aron Stanley who achieved 1280 in his first tournament. This was also a personal best for the FITA 90/1440 round. Hayden Crampton didn't quite make his major goal of 1305 but came within a gnat's whisker of it scoring 1300 which wasn't too bad considering he had a miss after a misfire.
Well done archers and well done organisers.
I have just been given the news that Suzanne didn't attend the range on Saturday as her brother had passed away. Please share your prayers and best wishes with Suz.
This is one of those times I don't enjoy being a club communicator. But it is my sad duty to let you know that a very well liked and long serving member of our club Roy Hadley passed away suddenly last week. Whilst I didn't know Roy all that well I always found him to be a nice and unassuming fellow who I could tell was the sort of person liked by all. Our best wishes go out to Roy's loved ones. I don't have words that could possibly ease the pain for those who loved him but I can say with great certainty that the love shared is the sort of energy which lives on for our entire lives. So whilst Roy might be physically gone, his love lives on in those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by him.
My sister sent me a poem when my father died. I wont go into it in total but the words from it I believe say it better than I do.
'do not stand by my grave and cry. I am not dead, I did not die....'
For those who are able to attend, Roy's funeral will be held at Palmdale at 10am on Tuesday November 6.
Our treasurer Kerry will be placing a club shirt order shortly and would like to know if anyone wishes to order a long sleeve shirt. If so the cost is $5 more than the standard shirt price.
Please see Kerry or email her firstname.lastname@example.org
