Range Safety Quiz
Who is responsible for the safety of members before shooting commences for the event?
The senior member present at the time.
The Field Captain or his assistant.
You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
The person with the whistle
All shooting must be under the control of a DoS and shall be conducted under either AA or FITA Rules. The whistle signal of two blasts means -
Stop shooting and proceed to recover arrows.
Commence shooting.
Danger, stop shooting immediately.
Come to the shooting line
Three blasts on a whistle means?
Stop shooting, retrieve and score arrows.
Move from the waiting line to the shooting line.
Danger, stop shooting immediately.
What is the main hazard when approaching the target butts to score arrows?
Bumping into another archer.
Striking an arrow which is lodged in the ground.
Racing the other archers to pick up the score card.
You manage to miss the target butt completely and put an arrow into the safety fence behind it. How do you retrieve your arrow?
Tell the scorer and then climb up the slope to retrieve it.
Move down the line of butts and use the access stairs.
Get one of the younger kids to climb up the slope and hand the arrow to you.
Upon arriving at the range you see a red flag hanging on the Clubhouse. What does this mean?
You are not permitted to go behind the safety barrier.
You are allowed to go behind the safety barrier as long as you tell another archer.
The range is closed.
You move to the 30m marker on the practice range to carry out sight settings and find that there are four members already using the Target. What options do you have?
Squeeze into the group on the shooting line and shoot.
Stand in the lane next to the 30m target and shoot across at an angle.
Wait until the other archers have finished shooting and retrieved their arrows.
Open up another target next to the designated practice target.
